Reiki Animal Healing for Pets and Horses
Pets are so empathetic they take on people diseases and pains. Relaxed owners means relaxed pets and vice versa.
A pet and its owner are deeply connected and will often reflect each others problems. When ill, it makes sense then to treat both the owner and the pet as this makes the treatment more complete.
Healing is powerful but gentle at the same time and can be beneficial for healing both physical and emotional conditions in pets, horses as well as all other animals.
It is often important that a full veterinary diagnosis is obtained as healing is not necessarily a diagnostic tool. This will facilitate the healer to target a more specific problem.
Animals respond very favorably to this energy work. They are very sensitive and open to energy and don’t have a lot of defense mechanisms to block the flow of “chi” (universal energy, same as Prana).
The healer scans the animal body for differences in the energy field and channels healing energies from the universe for it to receive and use wherever it is needed. This stimulates the animal innate healing ability to bring the body back into a state of balance.
For some ailments, 1 session is enough; for other ailments or more chronic conditions, you may require several sessions overlapping over several days or a week. Treatment may last from 15 minutes to one hour or more.
Over recent years a specific system of energy healing, Reiki, it has been known to be extremely beneficial on horses as well as other pets.
However Reiki works with very "large" animals too (i.e., tame zoo animals, livestock, work animals, etc.), but in this case, you would want to gather several practitioners to come over and place their hands wherever they can, for as long as they can. This is because their physical size requires considerably more energy to be effective.
Pets will generally warm up to a Reiki practitioner quicker than they would with other strangers. It cannot be forced onto a pet.
Pets usually enjoy Reiki energy and it this can also be observed clearly. An animal may sniff, lick one or either healer hands or they might even rub against them as well.
Horses who are very nervous, dangerous or don’t like to be touched can have the energy beamed at them or be given a distant Reiki treatment.
Many nervous or hyperactive animals become very relaxed and owners are often impressed to see them sitting motion less while receiving treatment. Animals express their emotions with movement, so watch if your pet wants more or tries to move away.
In many cases the pets or other animals, will show some signs of gratitude towards both the healer and the owner after they have successfully had treatment. This will renew the affectionate bond between them and has therapeutic benefit for the owner too.
Veterinary medicine, although wonderful, it has still limits when compared with the broad spectrum of ailments than can be treated in people with general medicine. It is for this reason that healing receives so much acceptance in the veterinary circuit too. The local pet clinic would be able to refer you to a few of those gifted healers
